Jonathon Du Ross is a Master’s level licensed independent marriage and family therapist (MFT) who uses mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy modalities. He specializes in treating a wide range of issues such as:
· Depression and anxiety
· Phase of life challenges
· Managing symptoms of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia
· Improving communication in couples and families
· Parent-adolescent problems
As an MFT, Jonathon focuses on how a family’s patterns of behavior influences the individual and therefore, is an important aspect to a client’s treatment. This focus on understanding and improving family, professional, and/or romantic relationships is helpful to overcoming personal obstacles in treatment. Through individual, group, and family therapy, he engages and empowers clients to achieve satisfying relationships and fulfilling life goals.
Jonathon earned his graduate degree in California from Azuza Pacific University through a program that emphasized a family systems approach to treatment and integration of spirituality and one’s religion in therapy. Jonathon has 8 years of experience working in urban community-based mental health programs serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Jonathon has experience treating at-risk adolescents and their families, incarcerated individuals, victims and perpetrators of domestic violence and sexual abuse/sex crimes, and individuals experiencing challenges with substance use.
