Cathy Moore is a Masters level therapist, PCC, with over twenty years of experience working with children and families. Her work experience includes working as a family therapist in intensive in-home treatment, working as a care manager for children and families who are experiencing serious mental health issues leading parenting groups, providing training and consultation services to child care centers, training early childhood professionals on mental health issues, and training other mental health professionals in working with young children.
She worked with the Ohio Department of Mental Health to identify and increase the competencies of mental health professionals working with young children birth to age eight. She has been part of the writing teams for the state of Ohio’s guidelines for child care centers by identifying social/emotional development as vital to quality early childhood education and care.
Cathy has experience working with children of all ages and their families who struggle with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, PTSD, Depression, learning problems, domestic violence, developmental F, mood disorders, and adjustment issues including separation and loss. She uses a family systems approach while identifying and focusing on strengths and increasing the emotional intelligence competencies of children and their families to meet the demands of challenging behaviors.
